into the '00s. As 18,000 individual votes were tallied and entered into a
database, Martin Popoff began interviewing the bands that made the
final heavy grade, gathering their often explosive, revealing
recollections of creating these classic tracks.
Martin then set about, in his
celebrated and controversial (some say convoluted and impermeable!)
manner, reviewing each track, digging into the history of each song, the
context, why we care, and in some cases, why we shouldn't!
Additionally, dozens of top rockers
have been polled, and some of their lists are displayed throughout the
book, along with approximately 80 shots of rare single covers for the
