Amberian Dawn Take A Chance: A Metal Tribute To ABBA CD (Digipak, 2022, Napalm Records)

Take A Chance: A Metal Tribute To ABBA is the 2022 album from Finnish symphonic metal band Amberian Dawn, released through Napalm Records on December 2, 2022. The album reimagines some of ABBA's best-known songs through the band's distinctive melodic and symphonic metal sound, combining powerful guitar riffs, energetic drums, vintage-inspired synthesizers and soaring female vocals. Across 11 tracks, Amberian Dawn transform familiar pop classics into dynamic metal arrangements while preserving the memorable melodies and nostalgic character of the originals.

Featuring metal interpretations of Super Trouper, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight), SOS, Mamma Mia and Head Over Heels, the album balances energetic, guitar-driven performances with more atmospheric and emotional moments. Vocalist Capri's expressive delivery complements the band's layered keyboards and heavy instrumentation, creating a distinctive blend of ABBA's catchy songwriting and modern melodic metal. The inclusion of Like An Angel Passing Through My Room adds a softer, more reflective atmosphere, while Lay All Your Love On Me completes the 11-track collection.

For fans of symphonic metal, melodic power metal and creative rock and metal cover albums, Take A Chance: A Metal Tribute To ABBA offers an entertaining meeting of classic pop melodies and powerful metal arrangements. This 2022 CD edition is an appealing addition for Amberian Dawn collectors, ABBA fans and listeners who enjoy familiar songs reinterpreted with orchestral keyboards, heavy guitars and dynamic vocals.
