Amon Amarth The Allfather Awakens CD (Digipak, 2026, Metal Blade)

The Allfather Awakens is the 2026 studio album from Swedish melodic death metal giants Amon Amarth, continuing the band's long-running blend of crushing riffs, melodic guitar work, powerful drumming and Norse mythology-inspired storytelling. Their 13th studio album, features ten new tracks including Gjallarhorn, Eight Legs of Thunder, We Rule the Waves and The Allfather Awakes. Recorded with producer Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Denmark, the album combines Amon Amarth's trademark heaviness with melodic and atmospheric elements. The CD Digipak edition presents this latest chapter in the band's Viking-inspired metal legacy.

With its combination of melodic guitar harmonies, commanding vocals and heavy Scandinavian death metal foundations, The Allfather Awakens delivers the sound Amon Amarth fans have come to expect while introducing new songwriting elements. The album also includes Upphaf, an acoustic track built around passages from the Völuspá, adding another dimension to the band's established Norse mythology theme.

For fans of melodic death metal, Viking metal and Scandinavian extreme metal, The Allfather Awakens is an essential addition to any Amon Amarth collection.
