Austrian Death Machine - Quad Brutal CD (Digipak, 2024, Napalm Records)

Quad Brutal is the fourth studio album from Austrian Death Machine, the extreme metal project founded by As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis. Released through Napalm Records in 2024 after almost a decade away, the album delivers a deliberately over-the-top combination of thrash-infused metal, death metal aggression and metalcore intensity. Across ten tracks, Quad Brutal features breakneck riffs, pummelling rhythms and the project's trademark Arnold Schwarzenegger-inspired humour, with songs including No Pain No Gain, Conquer, Judgment Day and I Never Quit.

The album brings together crushing guitar work, fast-paced drumming, aggressive vocals and melodic passages, with numerous guest musicians contributing throughout the record. Guitarists and vocalists including Angel Vivaldi, Clayton King, Brandon Richter, Ricky Hoover and others add their own performances, while the record maintains Austrian Death Machine's distinctive mix of extreme metal and bodybuilding-themed humour. The result is a fast, heavy and intentionally excessive release aimed squarely at fans of modern aggressive metal.

For listeners who enjoy thrash metal, death metal, metalcore and high-energy extreme metal, Quad Brutal offers a distinctive combination of crushing musicianship and tongue-in-cheek songwriting. The 2024 CD Digisleeve edition is an essential physical format for Austrian Death Machine collectors and fans of Tim Lambesis' various metal projects.
