Black Spikes Ydos CD (Digipak, 2026, Napalm Records)

Ydos is the 2026 second full-length album from Lithuanian progressive metal band Black Spikes, released through Napalm Records on August 28, 2026. The album combines modern progressive metal with dark atmospheric textures, electronic elements, intricate guitar work and powerful vocals, creating a complex and cinematic sound. Across 10 tracks, Black Spikes explore the darker sides of human nature, with songs such as Pasaka, Motina, Melas and Mara establishing the album's ominous and immersive character.

The album develops its concept through a series of compositions dedicated to different human flaws and destructive impulses. Agni's vocals move between high melodic passages, screams and powerful growls, while the guitars and electronics create contrasts between crushing riffs, atmospheric sections and progressive rhythms. Melas introduces trap beats and rap elements, while Aurea combines aggressive riffs and galloping drums with calmer passages. Senas Demonas and Dulkės continue the album's dark cinematic progression toward its closing moments.

For fans of modern progressive metal, alternative metal and atmospheric heavy music, Ydos offers a distinctive combination of technical musicianship, electronic experimentation and dark storytelling. The 2026 Digisleeve CD is an appealing physical edition for Black Spikes collectors and listeners who enjoy contemporary metal that combines heavy guitar work with progressive structures, cinematic atmosphere and electronic influences.
