Realm Of Chaos: Slaves To Darkness was recorded at Loco Studios in Wales in April 1989 and produced by Digby Pearson and Bolt Thrower, with mixing handled by Colin Richardson. The album captures Bolt Thrower's developing death metal sound with heavy guitar riffs, aggressive vocals, relentless drumming and a combination of speed and crushing rhythmic weight that would become central to the band's identity.
