Hypocrisy Virus CD ( Jewel Case, 2025, Nuclear Blast Records)

Official 2025 Nuclear Blast Records jewel case CD edition of Virus, the tenth studio album by Swedish death metal band Hypocrisy. Originally released in 2005, Virus captures the band's distinctive combination of aggressive death metal, melodic guitar work, dark atmospheres and powerful rhythmic grooves. Featuring Peter Tägtgren's commanding vocals, precise guitar work and production, the album is an essential release in Hypocrisy's extensive discography.

Recorded at The Abyss studio in Sweden during November and December 2004, Virus was produced and mixed by Peter Tägtgren. The album introduced drummer Horgh (Reidar Horghagen) and guitarist Andreas Holma to the Hypocrisy recording lineup. Exodus guitarist Gary Holt also makes a guest appearance, contributing a guitar solo to "Scrutinized".

Featuring tracks including "Warpath", "Scrutinized", "Fearless", "A Thousand Lies" and "Blooddrenched", Virus delivers a powerful balance of Swedish death metal aggression, melodic arrangements and the dark, distinctive atmosphere that has characterised Hypocrisy's sound.

Recommended if you like Dismember, Bloodbath, At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, Arch Enemy and other established Swedish death metal and melodic death metal bands.
