Incantation The Infernal Storm CD (Jewel Case, 2000, Relapse Record)

Incantation’s The Infernal Storm is a devastating old-school death metal album originally released in 2000 through Relapse Records. The band delivers a relentlessly dark combination of crushing guitar riffs, guttural vocals, punishing drums, and oppressive atmosphere, creating the raw and sinister sound that has made Incantation a cornerstone of American death metal.

The album features eight tracks, including “Anoint The Chosen,” “Extinguishing Salvation,” “Impetuous Rage,” “Sempiternal Pandemonium,” “Lustful Demise,” and “Heaven Departed.” Across the record, Incantation moves between savage blast-beat driven passages, dense guitar work, heavy mid-tempo sections, and slower doom-influenced moments. The result is a powerful and uncompromising death metal experience with a bleak, occult atmosphere and a distinctly underground character.

Recorded at Mars Recording Compound in Cleveland, Ohio, The Infernal Storm features John McEntee on guitar, Mike Saez on vocals and guitar, Robert Yench on bass, and Dave Culross on drums. Its combination of cavernous heaviness, complex riffs, brutal vocals, and dark atmosphere makes it an essential release for collectors and listeners of classic American death metal. The Relapse Records CD is an excellent addition to any Incantation or old-school extreme metal collection.
