The classic 1999 debut album of Cult Black Metal band Old Forest, re-recorded & produced in 2019. For fans of early 90’s Black Metal (Emperor, Burzum, Satyricon, Gehenna, Dimmu Borgir, Forgotten Woods et al).
Amongst the true fans of early 90s Black Metal, the release became something of a collectable item - However, the original label have been un-cooperative concerning further pressings.
In 2019, the band decided to re-record the album in its entirety, with the original drummer, using the same studio & equipment as the first time, in order to bring control ‘Back Into the Old Forest’
In J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle Earth, the Old Forest is a small forested area that lies east of the Shire in Buckland. The Old Forest is one of the few survivors of the primordial forests which covered most of Eriador before the Second Age, and it once was but the northern edge of one immense forest which reached all the way to Fangorn forest.
This album contains 2 bonus tracks (covers of Burzum’s ‘ Nar Himmelen Klarner’ & Gehenna’s ‘Shivering Voice of the Ghost’)
