Razor Shotgun Justice CD (Jewel Case, 2015, Relapse Record)

Razor’s Shotgun Justice is a ferocious Canadian thrash metal classic originally released in 1990 and reissued in deluxe remastered form by Relapse Records. Driven by rapid-fire guitar riffs, aggressive vocals, pounding drums, and relentless speed, the album captures Razor at their most intense while retaining the raw energy and uncompromising attitude that made the band an important force in the Canadian underground metal scene.

The original 14-track album delivers a nonstop barrage of fast and aggressive thrash metal, with songs such as “Miami,” “United By Hatred,” “Violence Condoned,” “Electric Torture,” “Shotgun Justice,” “Parricide,” “Brass Knuckles,” and “The Pugilist.” Razor combine tight riffing, driving rhythms, abrasive vocals, and short, high-impact arrangements to create an intense old-school sound. The lyrical themes also move beyond the band's earlier horror and bar-fight subjects into social issues involving crime, violence, vigilantism, and personal conflict.

This Relapse Records reissue edition has been remastered and expanded to 20 tracks, adding live performances, alternate versions, and other bonus material. Presented as a deluxe reissue, it offers collectors a comprehensive edition of one of Razor’s most celebrated albums. With its combination of Canadian thrash metal aggression, speed metal intensity, raw production, and relentless guitar work, Shotgun Justice is an essential CD for fans of Razor and classic 1980s and early-1990s thrash metal.
