Repulsion - Horrified 2 CD (Jewel Case, 2003, Relapse)

A true cornerstone of extreme metal history, Horrified is the legendary debut album from American grindcore pioneers Repulsion. Originally recorded in 1986 and first released in Europe in 1989, this album is universally recognised as one of the most important and influential releases in the development of grindcore, goregrind, and death metal.

Formed in Flint, Michigan, Repulsion helped define the blueprint for extreme metal with their uncompromising sound: blistering blast beats, bone-crushing distorted bass, savage thrash-influenced riffs, and grotesque horror-themed lyrics. Horrified pushed speed and aggression to previously unheard-of extremes and directly influenced an entire generation of bands, including Napalm Death, Carcass, Entombed, and Cannibal Corpse.

This definitive Relapse Records 2×CD reissue presents the complete Horrified experience. Disc one contains the original album in its raw, ferocious entirety, while disc two expands the collection with essential archival material, including the Excruciation 7-inch, rare and elusive demo recordings, and additional bonus tracks that document the band’s formative years.

An absolute must-have for fans of grindcore, old-school death metal, and underground metal history, Repulsion’s Horrified stands as a genre-pioneering masterpiece and a vital addition to any serious metal collection.
