Ignea Dreams Of Lands Unseen CD (Digipak, 2023, Napalm Records)

Dreams Of Lands Unseen is the 2023 concept album from Ukrainian symphonic metal band Ignea, released through Napalm Records. The ten-track album combines heavy guitar riffs, powerful vocals, symphonic arrangements, electronic textures and ethnic folk influences to create a cinematic and adventurous sound. Inspired by the life and travels of Ukrainian photographer and documentarian Sofia Yablonska, the album follows her journeys through distant countries and cultures. Tracks such as Dunes, Camera Obscura, Nomad's Luck and The Golden Shell showcase Ignea's distinctive blend of melodic metal, atmospheric keyboards and aggressive extreme-metal passages.

The album moves between crushing riffs, melodic passages, electronic elements and folk-inspired instrumentation, giving each song its own atmosphere. Dunes combines aggressive vocals with dreamy melodies and Middle Eastern-inspired textures, while Daleki Obriyi is one of two songs performed in Ukrainian. Opiumist features Finnish vocalist Tuomas Saukkonen of Wolfheart, adding another distinctive vocal element to the album's expansive sound. Produced, mixed and mastered by Max Morton, Dreams Of Lands Unseen delivers a polished yet powerful production that emphasises both its symphonic scale and heavier metal foundations.

For fans of symphonic metal, melodic death metal, folk metal and cinematic extreme metal, Dreams Of Lands Unseen offers an immersive combination of storytelling, powerful musicianship and diverse international influences. This 2023 CD Digisleeve edition is an appealing physical release for collectors and listeners who appreciate modern metal with orchestral arrangements, electronic textures, ethnic melodies and strong female vocals.
