Dust Age is the second full-length studio album from Italian New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal band Vultures Vengeance, delivering a powerful and atmospheric take on epic heavy metal rooted in classic traditions.
Formed in Rome in 2009, Vultures Vengeance have built a strong reputation in the underground with their blend of traditional and epic heavy metal inspired by Cirith Ungol, Manilla Road, Brocas Helm, Warlord, early Manowar and The Lord Weird Slough Feg. After releasing a demo and two EPs, the band made a strong statement with their 2019 debut album The Knightlore, which received widespread acclaim across the global underground metal scene. Dust Age marks their debut release for High Roller Records and represents a bold evolution of their sound.
Recorded in October 2020 at 16 Cellar Studio in Rome and mixed by Marco S. Vermiglio at The Forge Studio in Sweden, Dust Age retains the unmistakable identity of Vultures Vengeance while exploring new musical and thematic territory. The album was recorded largely with the band’s earlier lineup, featuring Damian on drums, and reflects a transitional period shaped by cancelled European shows and lineup changes during the pandemic.
Musically, Dust Age delivers classic heavy metal with epic overtones, dynamic riffing and a dark, immersive atmosphere. Lyrically, the album presents a vision of a future world in ruins, using allegorical tales of war, slavery, corruption and power to mirror the realities of the modern age. Tracks like “City Of Thousand Blades” highlight the band’s long-standing songwriting roots, having been part of their repertoire since their earliest rehearsals in 2009.
Dust Age is an essential release for fans of epic and traditional heavy metal who value authenticity, strong songwriting and a timeless underground spirit.
