Voivod’s second album Rrröööaaarrr stands as one of the most ferocious and uncompromising releases of the 1980s metal underground. Formed in 1982 in Jonquière, Quebec, Voivod-Snake, Piggy, Blacky, and Away-quickly evolved from NWOBHM-inspired beginnings into a mutant thrash force. After their 1984 debut War and Pain, the band’s relentless rehearsal schedule and chaotic living conditions fueled the creation of Rrröööaaarrr, a record forged during hardship, stolen equipment, and the legendary “World War III” festival that led to their signing with Noise Records.

Originally released in March 1986, Rrröööaaarrr pushed Voivod’s speed and intensity to new extremes. Tracks like “Ripping Headaches,” “Thrashing Rage,” and “To The Death!” capture the raw, breakneck energy that made the album an underground classic. Often cited as one of the band’s heaviest and most aggressive works, it remains a milestone in Canadian metal history.

Now available again after years out of print, this ultimate edition offers fans and collectors the chance to revisit- or discover—the most savage chapter of Voivod’s early evolution.
